The Rapper Praises Trump’s Pardon of Associate Michael “Harry-O” Harris
Snoop Dogg, the renowned rapper and music icon, surprised many with his recent statements expressing love and respect for former President Donald Trump. In an interview with The Sunday Times, Snoop Dogg praised Trump for his pardon of Michael “Harry-O” Harris, an associate of Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight.
A Turnaround from Previous Criticism
These comments mark a significant departure from Snoop Dogg’s past criticisms of Trump and his supporters. In a 2017 music video, the rapper depicted Trump as a clown and even simulated shooting the president in the head. Furthermore, Snoop Dogg has been vocal about his disapproval of Trump and his policies on multiple occasions.
Pardoning of Michael “Harry-O” Harris
Michael “Harry-O” Harris, the founder of Death Row Records’ parent company, Godfather Entertainment, had been serving a lengthy prison sentence for charges of conspiracy and attempted murder. Trump’s pardon, one of his final acts as president, granted Harris his freedom after more than three decades behind bars.
Acknowledging Trump’s Action
Snoop Dogg publicly acknowledged and commended Trump’s decision to pardon Harris. In an interview with the New York Post, he expressed his appreciation for the president’s work and his team’s efforts in granting Harris his freedom. The rapper stated, “I love what they did. That’s great work for the president and his team on the way out.”
An Unpredictable Stance
When asked if he would take a similar approach of publicly denouncing a presidential candidate in the future, Snoop Dogg remained noncommittal. He explained that he would consider the mixed views of the people before making a definitive statement. It remains uncertain how the rapper’s political views may evolve in the future.
Representatives for both Snoop Dogg and Donald Trump have not provided any comments on the matter at this time.
