Actress suggests separate bedrooms as a healthy approach to marriage
In a recent interview, Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz expressed her belief in normalizing separate bedrooms in relationships. Diaz shared her perspective, stating, “To me, I would literally — I have my house, you have yours. We have the family house in the middle. I will go and sleep in my room. You go sleep in your room. I’m fine.” She added that couples could convene in a shared bedroom for intimate moments.
Diaz acknowledges past views and praises her husband
When questioned about the potential backlash her comments may receive, Diaz acknowledged that she had previously shared her beliefs on the topic. She humorously quipped, “I already said it. I don’t feel that way now because my husband is so wonderful. I said that before I got married.”
The actress, who married Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden in 2015, praised her husband and expressed gratitude for their relationship. Diaz described marriage as a surprise and hailed her husband as the “greatest human being” and her “great partner.”
Focusing on family and the return to acting
After taking a break from acting for the past decade, Diaz recently announced her return to the big screen. However, she emphasized her commitment to prioritizing her family. Diaz and Madden welcomed their daughter, Raddix, in 2019 via surrogate.
Diaz’s decision to step away from acting was a personal choice, and she expressed her gratitude for her husband’s support. She stated, “Getting married to [Benji] was the best thing that ever happened to me. My husband’s the best… It’s really refreshing. I’m really grateful for him.”
As Diaz prepares for her comeback in the upcoming film, she continues to advocate for open conversations about relationships and challenges traditional notions of marriage.
