Late Queen Elizabeth II’s Image Under Scrutiny
A photo from 2023 featuring the late Queen Elizabeth II with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attributed to Catherine, the Princess of Wales, has been identified as “digitally enhanced at source” by Getty, an international photo agency.
This revelation follows the discovery of digital alterations in a recent British Mother’s Day photo released by Kensington Palace in March. The older image was initially shared by Buckingham Palace on April 21, 2023, in honor of what would have been the queen’s 97th birthday. Princess Kate, the photographer, confessed to “editing” this photograph of her family, citing her passion for photography as a hobby.
A Getty spokesperson stated: “Getty Images is reviewing handout images and adding editor’s notes to images where digital enhancement is suggested, in line with our editorial policy.“
Speculation Over Kate’s Health
Amidst concerns about Kate’s well-being, triggered by the manipulated images, reports surfaced in British tabloids indicating Kate’s public appearance at a farm shop near her family’s residence in Windsor. Eyewitnesses described her as “happy, relaxed, and healthy,” dispelling previous worries about her health.
While Kensington Palace confirmed Kate’s planned surgery and recovery period until at least Easter, the recent sightings of the Duchess with her husband, Prince William, suggest a positive outlook. The couple was reportedly spotted watching their children play sports, although no images of the event have been made public as of yet.
Royah Nikkhah, royal editor for Britain’s Sunday Times newspaper, remarked: “I think Kate’s recent sightings looking content and active will help diminish speculation. Her expected return to public duties in mid-April is anticipated.“
