Fitness for Mental Health
Reality TV star Kyle Richards has recently shared her fitness journey, revealing that her motivation to work out has shifted over the years. While she used to exercise primarily to lose weight, Richards now prioritizes her mental health. She emphasized that looking good is merely a bonus.
A Turning Point
Richards’ fitness journey began after she underwent a breast reduction in 2022, which left her unable to exercise for eight weeks. During this time, she found herself indulging in pasta, wine, and cocktails while on vacation in Europe. By the end of the trip, she felt unrecognizable and realized she had been neglecting her well-being. The loss of her best friend to suicide further contributed to her depression.
A Commitment to Change
Determined to make a positive change, Richards decided to eliminate bad carbs, sugar, pasta, bread, and alcohol from her diet. Additionally, she committed to exercising every single day. These changes allowed her to shed the extra weight she had gained and regain control over her mental health.
Discovering the Benefits
Richards discovered a noticeable difference in her skin and overall well-being after cutting out alcohol from her lifestyle. In terms of exercise, she enjoys activities such as hiking, spin classes, weightlifting, hot yoga, and running. Engaging in these activities, especially during challenging times, provides her with mental clarity.
Feeling and Looking Better Than Ever
As Richards enters her 50s, she feels better and more confident than ever before. Despite having four children, she believes she looks better now than in her 20s and 30s. Richards emphasizes that it is never too late to prioritize one’s health and well-being.
Addressing Rumors
There have been rumors suggesting that Richards used a prescription medication called Ozempic to aid in her weight loss. However, she has adamantly denied these claims. Richards clarified that she has never tried Ozempic and attributed her transformation to her dedicated fitness routine and healthy lifestyle choices.
A New Chapter
Amidst rumors of a separation from her husband of 27 years, Richards has emphasized that her fitness journey is not a revenge body but rather an “I-feel-good body.” While it is a challenging adjustment for her, she is finding happiness and navigating this new chapter of her life with grace. Richards and her estranged husband still live in the same house and prioritize therapy to ensure each other’s happiness.
A Lesson in Strength
Reflecting on the hardships of 2023, Richards discovered her resilience and inner strength. She realized that she can handle more than she ever imagined and is stronger than she realized. As she enters the new year, Richards intends to let go of negativity and any lingering stress or pain, seeking a quieter and more peaceful life.
