Cooperation Over Isolation
At the Munich Security Conference, China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, emphasized the importance of cooperation in global trade. Warning against attempts to exclude China in the name of reducing dependency, Wang Yi stressed that such actions would be a “historical mistake.” He highlighted that cooperation, rather than isolation, poses the least risk in today’s interconnected world.
Globalization and Inclusivity
Describing the world economy as an interconnected ocean, Wang Yi asserted that attempting to create isolated economic systems is not feasible. He underlined the irreversible trend of economic globalization and advocated for collaborative efforts to ensure its benefits are shared inclusively.
Pushback Against Allegations
Furthermore, Wang Yi addressed allegations of forced labor in Xinjiang, dismissing them as “fabricated information” aimed at hindering China’s progress. He refuted claims of labor transfer programs targeting Uyghur and Turkic minorities, asserting that the true motive behind such accusations is to impede China’s development.
