A Missed Opportunity
In an interview with People magazine, Bryce Dallas Howard revealed that if given the chance, she would have started her acting career at a younger age. However, her parents had strict rules against child actors, leading her to begin her journey in her 20s with her first feature role in 2004.
Supportive Parents
Bryce, daughter of renowned actor Ron Howard and his wife Cheryl, expressed gratitude for her parents’ stance on child acting. They wanted their children to pursue other career paths before entering the industry. This decision allowed Bryce to appreciate the value of making a living through her own efforts.
Exploring Other Paths
During her teenage years, Bryce took on various jobs to gain work experience and independence. She worked as a waitress, in a factory assembly line, as a babysitter, nanny, and even as a dog walker. These diverse experiences shaped her work ethic and fueled her desire to be a part of the world of work.
A Turning Point
In 2002, while studying at the New York University Tisch School of Arts, Bryce’s life took a turn when she landed roles on Broadway. This led her to leave her studies and catch the attention of director M. Night Shyamalan, who cast her in her second feature film.
Success and Family Ties
Since then, Bryce has enjoyed success in the industry, starring in movies like “The Help” and the “Jurassic World” franchise. She acknowledges the importance of having family members in the industry, as it creates a sense of support and camaraderie.
“It’s so wonderful to get to be in an industry with family members, for me at least, because I’m not alone in it,” Bryce shared with People.
