Putting Safety at Risk for a “Fun” Scene
In a recent interview with Variety, actor Glen Powell shared a shocking story about a near-death experience he had while filming a scene for his latest movie. The 35-year-old actor explained that he almost fell off a cliff while hastily taking off his pants for a particularly enjoyable scene.
Powell emphasized the importance of discussing on-set safety, highlighting the risks involved in certain actions. He stated, “Taking your clothes off on the side of a cliff in a hurry is not safe either.” Despite the dangerous situation, Powell deemed the scene “really fun,” making it all worth it.
A Surprise Encounter with a Spider
During the revealing scene, Powell encountered an unexpected visitor inside his pants – a large spider. Unfazed by the situation, he described the moment by saying, “You just have to grip it and rip it on a scene like that.”
His co-star, Emily Sweeney, also reflected on the scandalous scene during the movie premiere. Sweeney mentioned the spider bite and the amusing moment when Powell bent over while she searched for more spiders, creating a comical and memorable experience.
Debunking Affair Rumors
Rumors of a romantic involvement between Powell and Sweeney have circulated since they were cast as romantic leads in “Anyone But You.” However, Powell recently addressed these rumors in an interview with Men’s Health. He stated, “When all that stuff happened, you know, publicly, it felt disorienting and unfair.”
Powell clarified that his close relationship with Sweeney was purely professional and that the rumors were fueled by their friendly interactions during press appearances. He also mentioned his recent breakup with girlfriend Gigi Paris and Sweeney’s engagement to restaurateur Jonathan Davino.
The Challenges of Fame and Dating
As Powell’s career continues to soar, he acknowledges that dating has become more complicated. He expressed the need to find a partner who is willing to embrace the uncertainties and challenges that come with his rising fame.
Recognizing the rapid pace of his life, Powell stated, “When the sun is shining, you gotta make hay. And you gotta chase this while you got it.” He emphasized the importance of finding a teammate who can handle the adventure and uncertainty that accompanies his career.
Powell concluded by acknowledging the difficulties his lifestyle presents in maintaining relationships, saying, “Honestly, I really try to be a great partner. When I love, I love hard. I also understand that the speed and uncertainty of my life is a very hard thing to put up with.”
