What “Backdooring” actually means

This is something that has bothered me for ages but never got around to actually expressing it.

The term “backdoor” has been thrown around the Big Brother house for seasons. Many of the houseguests use the term incorrectly. Reality Blurred reminded me of this in their most recent article. He perfectly described what backdooring ACTUALLY means:

it’s a strategy that starts when you nominate pawns who will hopefully win the veto so one of them can be replaced with the backdoored nominee who will have no chance of saving themselves

Backdooring is suppose to be a deliberate attempt to take off one of the nominees in place of the person they actually want out. Just because someone comes off the block due to Veto.. doesn’t make the replacement a backdoor victim. It has to be a deliberate move!

Does that make sense to everyone? I’m not sure if anyone else has the same gripe but I thought I would share it with the BB community.

#BB12 : Annie is the Big Brother 12 Saboteur. Rachel is new HOH.

I was already pretty judgmental over the Big Brother “twists” and now I have another reason to be.

In tonight’s episode we learned that the Saboteur was .. (drumroll please..) ANNIE! (did I not call it?) And just as quickly we learned who the Saboteur was, the Saboteur was given the boot with a unanimous vote. But not because the other houseguests were on to Annie as the mole, it was because she had no ties to anyone in the house.

So there it is. After 13 days in the house the game-changing twist has just walked out the door. But is it a good thing that the Saboteur is gone (although she says she’s not completely done)? The tasks that Annie were set over the past couple of days had nothing to do with Sabotage. Put tape over pictures? Have a device beep? Put a padlock on a door? Really CBS, this is what you consider Sabotage?

Anyways.. not to go off in a tangent but it just shows how quickly these twists die and change nothing in the game. What are your thoughts? Sound off in our comments section.

And now on to some other news…

RACHEL is the new Head of Household. Shoulda listened to Annie guys, huh? Who will the firecrotch nominate for eviction this week? Find out soon.

‘Big Brother 12′: All houseguests sequestered — someone returning?

For the twelfth season of the popular summer reality show “Big Brother,” CBS is sequestering all the houseguests. What does this mean for the show this year? It could be nothing. But typically the first 3-5 eliminated contestants (depending on the number of houseguests) are let to return to their hometowns following their evictions. But this year, CBS tells Zap2it that all the houseguests are being sequestered. Instead of being able to speak to the first few eliminees by phone for their exit interviews, we are having to conduct them all over email. Since this is an atypical handling of the eliminations, does this mean we’ll see a houseguest return? We think it might — because remember, a houseguest got cold feet just days before the contestants were put into the house. At that point, the premiere date and perhaps the finale date had been set, so losing a houseguest could mess with the summer schedule for CBS. But having someone return would right the ship…

A Key Veto Win Shakes up the Nominations

Brendon is not surprised that Hayden nominated him for eviction, but he didn’t expect Rachel would be on the chopping block with him. Rachel sees this as her worst case scenario, while Head of Household … More
