‘Project Runway’: The winner: Irina Shabayeva

November 20, 2009

Tonight’s “Project Runway” did have a certain level of suspense, given how Tim’s yelling was played up. But mostly it was a showdown between three quite talented designers — and Irina Shabayeva, whose collection was both beautiful and technically, walked away the winner. Zap2it.com

Leanne Marshall wins Season 5 ‘Project Runway’

October 16, 2008

It all came down to girl power, in Project Runway’s Season 5 finale.

With three women designers standing, Leanne Marshall, 28, of Portland, Ore., the show’s definitive shrinking violet, proved that beneath the nerdy glasses and the goofy demeanor, her talent loomed largest. “I am a fashion nerd,” said a very happy Marshall in a phone interview. “I just love to have fun, and I’m not afraid of kind of being a dork.” As for the whole “Project Runway” shebang, she said, “Without a doubt it’s been the most amazing experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat.” Courtesy Newsday

Project Runway - Noone Is Out

October 2, 2008

Previously: Korto won last week?s challenge, while poor Suede got the heave-ho, depriving the world of more awkward first-person/ third-person mid-sentence flip-flops and gaudy Mohawks. For shame.

For those of you not glued to your televisions all season, this episode is the final pre-New York Fashion Week brouhaha. The four remaining designers (Korto, Kenley, Jerell, and Leanne) are competing for three spots in the finals. The tension is just pulsating. I bet someone?s going to cry in the next hour. I hope it?s Kenley, but it?ll probably be Jerell. Or Ricky from last season, if the last challenge happens to be about hats and against all odds, he?s brought in as a guest judge.Courtesy CinemaBlend.com Read More

Drama rules the Runway

September 27, 2008

runway2.jpgThe drama continues over at Project Runway. Lifetime agreed to reserve the rights for the next 5 seasons of the fashion hit from production company The Weinstein Company. But NBC Universal (owners of PR broadcaster Bravo) cried foul.

“NBC Universal maintained The Weinstein Company violated an agreement to give Bravo (the cable channel the show currently airs on) the first right of refusal after the initial five-season run concluded.

According to court papers, The Weinstein Company began shopping the series because NBC Universal allegedly balked at its attempt to bundle the series with other Weinstein programs, which the network was not interested in, according to a previous report by The Associated Press.”

Leann Got Robbed and Other Project Runway Travesties

July 31, 2008

By: Julie S.

Don?t get me wrong, Project Runway is one of my favorite television shows. I?ve faithfully watched every season over and over again. Halfway through last night?s show, I felt like I was watching some of those reruns. The challenge was to create a nightlife look for New York City. Contestants were all given cameras and dropped off at different parts of the city with an hour to photograph their inspiration. This inspiration reeked of the season two episode based on inspiration. But in season two we were dazzled by great talents of Santino, Chloe, and Daniel V (whose orchid inspired outfit was ripped off by Kenley last week)., no such talent has surfaced this season.
