SUSAN BOYLE vs. Adam Lambert in a steel-cage match? Well, not quite, but the year’s two biggest reality TV superstars both drop hotly anticipated debut albums Monday, setting up an epic battle for sales supremacy and a stark contrast in musical style and personality.
In one corner, we’ve got Boyle, the shy Scottish homebody whose soul-stirring ballads made her a global sensation on “Britain’s Got Talent.” In the other, there’s Lambert, the brash, openly gay glam rocker who sent “American Idol” fans into mass hysteria.

Kris Allen beats out Adam Lambert for the Season 8 crown

Folks, we have a winner. In the final showdown of guitar rocker vs. glam rocker, the southern gentleman beat the singer with the guyliner. Kris Allen bested Adam Lambert for the Season 8 crown on “American Idol” Wednesday night. The 23-year-old from Conway, Ark., pulled off the ultimate upset, garnering enough of the just under 100 million votes cast to snatch victory away from Adam, a contestant many pundits and viewers had pegged as a heavy favorite. With his win, the understated and laidback Kris Allen now looks forward to a million dollar record deal.

The latest? The New York Daily News reported Tuesday that a source told them the final four are already chosen. And they are (drumroll please) Danny Gokey, Lil Rounds, Adam Lambert and Alexis Grace.

After announcing the three remaining finalists at the end of Thursday?s wild card round, Simon Cowell announced that the much-loved 22-year-old college student from Chapel Hill, N.C., won a previously unannounced 13th spot in the next round of the popular Fox singing contest. LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Following Paula Abdul ’s comments that she doesn’t think the idea of four judges on “American Idol” was such a good idea, Kara DioGuardi , who joined “Idol” this year as the fourth member on the judging panel, is firing back.
“Paula has a right to her opinions, but I was disappointed by her comments, and hurt that she did not address them to me in person,” Kara said in an exclusive statement to Access Hollywood.

American Idol Contestant Disqualified

American Idol contestant, Joanna Pacitti was disqualified after last night’s 36-winner show. Complaints from viewers have been pouring in…saying that Pacitti has a record deal and should not be allowed on the show. An editor’s note in a Fox release this morning told of the switch… “EDITOR?S NOTE: It has been determined that Joanna Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition. AMERICAN IDOL contestant Felicia Barton has replaced Ms. Pacitti as part of the Top 36. “
