Kris Allen beats out Adam Lambert for the Season 8 crown

Folks, we have a winner. In the final showdown of guitar rocker vs. glam rocker, the southern gentleman beat the singer with the guyliner. Kris Allen bested Adam Lambert for the Season 8 crown on “American Idol” Wednesday night. The 23-year-old from Conway, Ark., pulled off the ultimate upset, garnering enough of the just under 100 million votes cast to snatch victory away from Adam, a contestant many pundits and viewers had pegged as a heavy favorite. With his win, the understated and laidback Kris Allen now looks forward to a million dollar record deal.

Survivor Recap 12

Previously on Survivor?

No one believed Sierra when she told them that Coach came to her in hopes of getting Timbira alliance together, so they voted her out. Back at camp Coach says Taj and Errin took cowardly way out by voting for Stephen and Debbie. People who don?t play game half as bold as him half as honest and him pisses him off. He tells Deb this and she tells him to let it go. He continues on and she walks off and he still continues on long after Deb is tucked snuggly under the lean to. He doesn?t care about the money. He cares about his honesty and integrity and changing the game. He?s said that from day one. He rambles on so long that in my market?.we didn?t get to hear?

The drums begin to play

Deb laments on Coach?s attitude and she decides that he needs to go. JT says Deb may be looser cannon than he thought. Deb says Coach doesn?t speak for her…she?s in alliance with JT and Stephen.

The reward this week is the Survivor auction.

First item is French fries. Taj bids 40 so Deb bids 50?Jeff says 20 dollar increments so Deb bids 70? Deb wins for 120.

Covered dish goes to JT (nachos) covered dish to Stephen is chicken hearts 100

Last item is phone with video messages from home. Only winner gets to see video. They can donate left over money to any other Survivor. JT immediately hands over his money to Taj as does Debbie and the others follow suit. Leaving Taj holding everyone?s money. She pushes it to Jeff who says “I only need 20″

Get out your Kleenex, I will wait.

Eddie tells Taj that he loves her and misses her and that he will see her back at camp. Jeff says to her?there?s one line on there?all of a sudden Taj realizes that Eddie will be back at camp but she can make a sacrifice?EVERYONE will have loved ones back at camp if she goes to exile?.with Eddie. Without hesitation she says she will do it. Stephen says romantic night on dune!

On exile Taj and Eddie reunite. He tells her how bad she looks and she flashes her pits at him. In tree confession he says she looks happy and not withered?she?s filthy but something about the wild look is kind of sexy. Taj wants a conjugal visit.

The others return to camp and their loved ones are there as the tears flow.

Stephen?s brother is there and in shock at seeing Stephen. Stephen confesses (through teary eyes) that it is the biggest, warmest most sincere hug that they have ever shared. Stephen?s brother asks him not to eat him. Stephen says he tries not to think of his family at home while at the game.

Deb?s husband is shocked that she is there. She says it shows how intense their love is.

JT?s sister is there and she seems a bit disgusted by the whole thing. JT says he didn?t realize how much he misses his family and the COWS?

Errin?s dad cannot believe his girly girl. She tells her dad she?s bad ass now.

Coach?s assistant coach was there. Coach says you know what they call me? Dragon slayer. I?m slaying all the dragons. I?m running this frickin show. In a strange mating ritual, Coach has his assistant crack his back. Yeah, nothing weird about that.

On exile Taj warns Eddie about scorpions. He starts a fire for Taj. He says he admires her for coming out here. She?s the best?as he gives her a foot rub and a Knute Rockne pep talk.

JT shakes hands with everyone?s family as they are leaving and tells them something nice about their survivor. As Eddie walks off he says “don?t let the bed bugs bite.” Taj says it?s too late.

This was one of the greatest family visits ever in the history of Survivor. Well with the exception of that creepy back cracking thing.

The next morning Deb throws Coach under the bus to JT and Stephen?while Coach wants to vote off Taj.

JT says Coach and my strategies are not the same at this point. I just nod and agree and tell him what he wants to hear.

Deb says we all have to vote for Coach. Every one of us. He?s going to be furious or devastated and he will think I betrayed him. Deb tells JT and Stephen she would give them the idol to get them to the final 2. The boys wonder what other promises she has made.

The immunity challenge is to dig under a log, cross a balance beam, go under a rope crawl to a spinning wheel and memorize the symbols, go back through obstacles and complete math problem. JT jumps out to a pretty fast start as does Taj and Deb. Stephen gets through and falls off balance beam. Stephen spends a long time at the symbols and hurries back to write them down. In one trip Stephen completes the puzzle to win immunity. Everyone congratulates him except Coach is lying with his head on the sand. Stephen said he assigned each symbol a number?knows humans cannot remember more than a 7 digit number so he broke that into 2 numbers and came back and decoded it again. JT says Stephen willing is just like having the necklace himself. Back at camp Coach tells JT and Stephen that one of us is going to win it.

Tribal council

Jeff- Coach you have said you want the best players at end. With 6 left not everyone can be the best.

Coach- strength in my mind is not strength in others. Stephen has gone from a boy who read about adventure to a man who is living adventure and excelling at it.

Jeff- why Deb at the end

Coach- Deb plays for integrity so we paired up on day 3 because I know she?ll never lie to me no matter what.

Jeff-Taj how risky is it for Coach to say he paired up with Deb?

Taj-not risky that?s what people do. He?s a warrior. He?s a dragon slayer.

Jeff-warrior?

Taj-that?s what he calls himself

Coach-I didn?t come up with that by the way

Jeff-let me guess some chief in a small village?

Coach-every time we come in here and you want to put me down to ferret out the truth, I love it

Sierra gags

Jeff- what makes you take Taj to the end?

Coach- when I saw that raw emotion, she made ultimate sacrifice in taking time away from son. Time she?ll never get back

Jeff- how hard to vote off Taj?

Coach-every time we analyze if justifiable and coming on heels of that sacrifice it would be hard to vote her out.

Jeff- JT he says he wants to take best to the end. What if he?s not the best?

JT-anyone who stands her and be honest and never tell a lies deserves to go as far as his body can stand

Errin and Sierra roll eyes while Coach looks smug.

Deb-honesty is huge but can it last the duration of this game?

**Coach strokes scruffy face

Errin-there might be surprises tonight

Deb-tonight?s vote changes how we line up. There will be surprises.

Taj gets one vote (Coach)

Coach gets one vote (Deb)

And everyone else votes for Deb.

Stephen casts a satisfied grin at Coach as Coach has smoke rolling out his ears.

Deb says she is anxious to sit on jury and see what goes on?

Hard to believe there only 2 shows left. By next Sunday we will know who won. If Coach makes finale. If JT and Stephen?s friendship will crack under weight of possibility of turning on each other. But the real question is?will he be the Dragon Slayer or torched by the dragon?

Survivor Week 11 Recap

When we last saw our little survivors they were fresh from tribal where they blindsided Tyson. Back at camp JT and Stephen tell Coach that they couldn?t involve him in their plan and apologize for it. Stephen says it was their greatest achievement. Coach and JT go off arm in arm

And the drums begin to play.

Deb talks with JT and Stephen about next moves. They all agree it?s Sierra then Errin and reinforce trust in each other. Deb then goes to Coach and says she is worried about their blind siding. Says if they take Sierra and then Errin out, Jalapao will have edge to take them out. She mentions putting Timbira back together.

At reward they have to answer questions in private and based on those results answer questions. When right they chop someone?s rope. When rope is chopped 3 times it releases a giant mallet that shatters figure to pieces. Wanna know what they are playing for? Winner goes to Fervadora (sp) natural spring and a Brazilian feast.

Who has not lived up to potential? Coach

Stephen chops Taj?s rope and she says get your butt over here and he says “it is own”

Stephen said Sierra Taj Said Coach

Stephen wins reward and sends Errin to exile. He gets to take Taj and JT to reward with him, even with Coach begging. He?s afraid when push comes to shove old Jalapao will stick together. Duh.

At reward Stephen says we had carrots and beets, all local vegetables. I didn?t realize my carrots came from Brazil. Cool.

The little three year old fell off the bench and hit her head and sent Taj into mommy mode. She teared up when she talked about missing her son.

At Exile, Errin gets same old clue, cant get fire started, it rains, no shelter, no water, no food and she slept in the rain.

At camp Coach and Deb say Errin is mad enough at Stephen for exile to go with them to vote. The ask Sierra if she is with Coach and she says she doesn?t know.

Coach-said you would be loyal

Sierra- then you wrote down my name

Coach- then you are next baby. I will ask you again where is your loyalty?

Sierra-I don?t have any. I am standing on my own. You guys are in big trouble.

Deb-you don?t know who we have. Don?t put threats in our head that we are in trouble.

Sierra-not a threat it?s a fact

Deb- facts in your brain.

Coach-I want a concrete answer from JT on final four and then I will make my move.

Coach is starting to look like Professor Snape

When JT returns from reward Coach talks to him to see if he?s cool with Sierra and then Errin and then Taj says Sierra came to him about getting Timbira back but he said that isn?t going to happen. Doesn?t want to get in bed with snake

Meanwhile Sierra is telling Stephen how Coach and Deb came to her but that she is playing for herself.

Stephen, Coach and JT go to the log and Coach tells them that everyone is concerned about Jalapao alliance but that didn?t come out of his mouth (cause he talks out his ass) Deb and Sierra talked about Timbira alliance and he thought about it for 15 seconds and said no. He didn?t like it. Cannot do it to those guys. Makes him sick to stomach. Sierra is a halfwit floating on the breeze. Coach does a double fist pump and leaves

Stephen tells JT what Sierra said about Coach wanting alliance and they talk about keeping Sierra as a viable option.

At challenge, Stephen brought Errin a sweater. They are to throw grappling hook at a bag to retrieve bag. First 3 move on to navigate ball through maze. JT Coach and Deb move on pretty quickly. JT?s ball falls through at last second and coach says “you better believe it baby?dragon slayer” *gag*

Back at camp Coach gloats and says did you hear me say dragon slayer? He feels “justified in his place here. The meditation and focus allowed me to lock it in when it mattered” oh please.

Sierra confronts Coach about lying. He says Debbie brought it up and you got in her face making Deb cry. I said I do NOT want Timbira alliance. Deb does crying routine says she doesn?t remember what was said. Stephen and JT think Sierra caught Coach in a lie. Talk about taking out Deb but wonder about drama Sierra causes.

At tribal Tyson has on a #8 shirt. He is the 8th person voted off?

Deb says we are not a happy family. Coach says catalyst to reassure blah blah blah not eliminating anyone because they can beat me. Sierra rolls her eyes and says Coach?s honesty got burned and ruined when asked about Timbira alliance. Coach told JT that she went to them and she is happy to know that she proved the one who was playing in honest way wrong. Coach bore holes in the back of Sierra?s head.

Coach- my credibility attacked by one person. Two things I don?t like it?s a coward and liar. In Sierra?s warped mind she thinks she?s telling the truth. She?s making accusations of two things I hold dear. Honesty and integrity and courage (yeah?.that is 3). But I forgive Sierra because as Stephen says in temple when being stoned to death?forgive them for they know not what they do. Which is actually what Jesus said upon the cross just before he died. What Stephen said was “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.”

He goes on to say that she has made enemies of her 2 best friends on the island. She?s a catalyst that causes drama and mistrust with her 23 going on 5 year old temper tantrum.

Taj says she is loving this because she has really missed her soaps.

Votes are cast and Deb gets 2, Stephen 1 (Errin with note that says never again ok) and Sierra is the third member of the jury with 4 votes. Previews show tears and messages from home and Deb turning on Coach?.or is she just testing Stephen and JT?
